Haringtons fire – may re-open April? An update.

| | ,

The salon is almost unrecognisable.

Last week we reported on the fire at Haringtons hairdressers. Today, David Lambert, Director of Haringtons has provided an update:

“No insurance company has yet accepted responsibility – loss adjusters are assessing the damage and we should know within 3 – 4 weeks. The salon is part fire and totally smoke damaged and will be completely refitted. The cost of that is still not known.

We cannot start work on stripping out and refitting the salon until the damage to the main fabric of the building where the fire started in the communal office area, (the landlord’s responsibility) is repaired.

It is still to be confirmed but it is thought the cause of the fire was an electrical problem in the communal office area. We are hoping to re-open at the beginning of April but it is not confirmed yet.

We are offering our Marlow clients a discount off their bill for inconvenience and to thank them for supporting us by visiting either Beaconsfield, Maidenhead or Henley.

Our thanks go to the Fire services for the fantastic job they did in containing the fire and saving the building and to some local traders who have been incredibly supportive in such a difficult time.”
