Cookery star Mary Berry will sign copies of her books at Switch on and Shop on Thursday, November 24th, prior to flicking the switch on Marlow’s wonderful Christmas lights display.

One hundred lucky people will be able to collect a free ticket for the event in advance on a first-come, first-served basis from The Marlow Bookshop, available from Monday 14th November. These ticket holders will be able to reserve or pre-order one of Mary’s books through Marlow Bookshop, and then meet Mary there on the night to have their books signed, between 4.45pm and  5.30 pm.

For more information on the book signing event, including the list of books, and terms and conditions, visit www.marlowtowncouncil.org.uk/

After the book signing, Mary will climb to the top of a double-decker bus outside The Chequers pub in the High Street to turn on Marlow’s popular Christmas lights display, illuminating the town with twinkling Christmas trees and garlands of fairy lights.

To add to the authentic Christmas scene, there will be real snow (from snow machines!), and carols and songs from the Marlow Choral Society, Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School Gospel Choir and the Tapestry Choir. Shops will open late, and there will be special promotions, offers and Christmas displays throughout the town. Marlow FM will also be there to keep the Christmas spirit going.

Switch on and Shop starts at 5.30, and the High Street will be closed from 5.00-7.30 for the switch-on ceremony.
