Daniel McKay fundraising for TWO great charities

| |

Marlow’s Daniel McKay is on a bit of a mission to do some serious fundraising, and undertake a serious challenge in the process!  This is all in memory of Clare Smith, from Marlow, who tragically lost her life in a road accident last year.

At MyMarlow, we are keen to lend our support – will be tracking his progress throughout, and sharing it on our website and social media pages. Daniel is seeking to raise money via two events for two charities, and here is how….

May 5th: Thames Path 100 Mile run!

thames path 100 mile charityOn May 5th 2018, Daniel will attempt a gruelling 100 mile along the Thames path from Richmond park to Oxford in 24 hours. How to help: Daniel has set a £2,000 target on his Just Giving page, please to consider if you are able to donate!  Funds will go to The Child Bereavement UK charity, who have done some amazing work with the children and family that were left without their mum, partner, daughter and sister.

May 6th: Air Ambulance Fundraiser at the Duke

Dukes thames valley air ambulanceThe day after the run, there will be a fundraising event at The Duke in Marlow, from 3pm. (See Facebook event page)The event will be a celebration of Clare’s life. There will be a raffle and auction, along with other fundraising activities to support the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, which is entirely dependent on donations to continue operating.

How to help:

  • is there a local company wishing to sponsor the event?
  • are you able to contribute raffle or auction prizes? For the auction – maybe something unique? The sort of thing people would be willing to donate a substantial amount for?

If you are able to donate a prize, along with helping charities … MyMarlow will be very public in its thanks for those offering up prizes! 🙂

How to contact Daniel if you can help out…

Daniel told us “What I’m going to put myself though on the run is nothing to what Clare’s family have already had to deal with and what lies ahead for them. It would be amazing if people are able to donate cash or prizes to help raise as much as possible for these two amazing charities.”

If you can help or would like to get involved in some way please get in touch via email at Dannyboy0765@gmail.com or call on 07930 763 765.
