Town Council supports Great British Spring Clean

As part of the ‘Great British Spring Clean’, members of Marlow Town Council and volunteers went out on Saturday 24th March with litter pickers to tidy up the town.

It was a bit of a damp start, but undaunted Mayor Jocelyn Towns, Carol Heap and Cllr Richard Scott went around Station Road, Glade Road, Claremont Road, Cromwell Road and Liston Court, filling six black bin bags of rubbish, which were dropped off at the Town Council for disposal. Another group, led by Cllr Suzanne Brown, set off from Higginson Park.

“We had a great walk around the town and met and chatted to many residents,” Jocelyn said. “We aim to organise another event, hopefully when the weather’s a little kinder!”

The Great British Spring Clean is a campaign organised by Keep Britain Tidy with a simple aim: to bring people across the country together to clear up the litter that blights towns, villages, countryside and beaches.
