Marlow’s Christmas Lights will be turned on by… Tom Kerridge!

Tom Kerridge simulated switch onTom Kerridge, chef and owner of Marlow’s two Michelin-starred Hand and Flowers, is to illuminate the town at this year’s Switch on and Shop event on the evening of Thursday 20th November.

He will flick the switch from the top of a double decker bus in the High Street, illuminating Marlow’s wonderful display of Christmas lights.

‘I’m incredibly proud to be asked to switch on the lights in Marlow. I am so happy to call Marlow my home and I thank everybody for their amazing support over the last nine and a half years.  Thank you for making us feel so welcome and part of the thriving, friendly and family based community.’

The High Street will be closed approx 6-7pm  for the switch-on ceremony, to allow the crowds to get a view of proceedings. Next Stage choir, and the town’s own radio station, Marlow FM, will be there to keep the Christmas spirit going.

All car parks around the town will be free throughout the day to encourage both residents and visitors to start their Christmas shopping.

This year’s event will see the launch of the new Christmas Treasure Trail, organised by Marlow Town Council, offering an array of fabulous prizes for shoppers.

Last year, actor and Strictly Come Dancing winner Tom Chambers did the honours – the evening was a great success, and no doubt it will be this year too!
