New home for the Marlow Information Centre

| |

tourist office goesThe Marlow Information Centre (aka “tourist info”) will be closing at its current location next to the post office at 5:00pm on Friday 20 March, and from Tuesday 24 March 2015, will instead be  based in the same building as Marlow’s Library at Institute Road.

We think it’s a shame – from a tourism perspective at least – that the office will be moving to a location less visible and obvious, but Wycombe District Council who are responsible for the office have stressed the cost saving aspect, as follows:

“Whilst the majority of services provided by the Information Centre will continue, once relocated it will no longer be able to process new benefit or housing claim applications.

The Institute Road shared location of the Library and the Information Centre is conveniently located for residents and visitors to Marlow, still being in the centre of town and close to other shops and facilities.

By moving to shared premises, the Council is not only delivering cost savings for local people but also maintaining a central location so it can continue to serve both the local community and visitors well. “

The phone number, 01628 483597, will remain the same as will the email address marlow_office@wycombe.gov.uk

Opening times of the new Marlow Information Centre will be as follows:

  • Tuesday-Friday: 9:30am – 5:30pm
  • Saturday: 9:30am – 5:00pm
  • Monday, Sunday and Bank Holidays: CLOSED
