“Cook” promises to provide “remarkable food for your freezer”

| |

cook shopWe are finally about to get a new shop in the vacant “Bang & Olufsen” shop on Spittal Street.

As the posters in the window declare, we will have a “Cook“, which is part of a chain of providers of frozen meals – with other local branches in Maidenhead and Henley.

If the mention of frozen food makes you think of Iceland shops … then a quick look at their website  www.cookfood.net makes it clear this is something quite different!

In short, they prepare and sell frozen ready meals, or in their own words: “cook using exactly the same ingredients and techniques you would at home, so everything looks and tastes homemade.”  I doubt this means they will stock my “tuna, cheese and beans on toast” speciality – but you never know! 🙂

They have a large range of main meals, puddings, kids meals, food for entertaining and so on – and you can order in advance for collecting in-store, or home delivery.  More details on opening date when we have it, and maybe even a review of the food….
