Marlow Beerfest 2016 – 3rd and 4th June

marlow beerfest posterThe Marlow Beerfest 2016 is the first of what Marlow Football Club hopes will become an annual fundraising event. The club is member-owned and run by volunteers so why not pop along for a few pints, raise much-needed funds for the club and to make a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support!

There will be food available from Carol’s Kitchen and a wide variety of beers and ciders. There will be live music on both days, including the Wycombe Steel Orchestra.

AMBER/PALE ALES

1. BUNTINFORD BREWERY (ROYSTON,HERTFORDSHIRE) – HIGHWAYMAN 3.6%
A balanced malty-bitterness with hints of toffee and a slightly fruity bitter-sweet aftertaste. Brewed with Maris otter pale crystal wheat malts and Fuggles, Pheonix and First Gold hops

2. BANK TOP BREWERY (BOLTON, LANCASHIRE) – BARLEY TO BEER 3.6%
A light citrus hop beer in both aroma and flavour

3. BLINDMANS BREWERY (LEIGHTON, SOMERSET) – BUFF 3.6%
Amber beer with some malty toffee notes

4. HEXHAMSHIRE BREWERY (HEXHAM, NORTHUMBERLAND) – DEVILS ELBOW 3.6%
A smooth ale with caramel flavours and a rounded malty taste

5. PURPLE MOOSE BREWERY (PORTHMADOG, GWYNEDD) – SNOWDONIA ALE 3.6%
Refreshing pale ale brewed with crystal malt with a delicate combination of pioneer styrian goldings and lubelski hops

Golden fruity beer with a floral aroma and malty/hoppy aftertaste. Brewed with Maris Otter pale and wheat malts, English Golding hops and Cascade from the USA

7. ALLENDALE BREWERY (ALLENDALE, NORTHUMBERLAND) – WAGTAIL BEST BITTER 3.8%
Traditional amber session bitter, balanced with a floral hop aroma from plenty of traditional English goldings and fuggles hop. Flavour has notes of caramel and hay

8. HART BREWERY (PRESTON, LANCASHIRE) – LANCASHIRE BEST BITTER 3.9%
A traditional Lancashire bitter, lightly bronzed and lightly hopped with challenger and tetany hops

9. GEORGE WRIGHT BREWERY (RAINFORD, MERSEYSIDE) – DRUNKEN DUCK 3.9%
A light citrus ale combining hops from the Americas, sherbert undertones and a dry malt finish combine in this summer ale

10. CULLERCOATS BREWERY (CULLERCOATS, TYNE&WEAR) – LOVELY NELLY 3.9%
Amber bronze beer with a biscuit malt flavour balanced with a smooth bitterness from English fuggles and golding hops, toffee aroma with notes of citrus, similar flavour with a dry lingering bitter finish

11. REBELLION BREWERY (MARLOW, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE) – ARMADA 4.2 %
A copper bitter with a crisp refreshing finish, the blend of hops gives this bitter a crisp zesty character whilst low bitterness makes it thirst quenching and highly drinkable

12. VALE BREWERY (BRILL, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE) – RED KITE 4.3%
A chestnut red beer maris otter, crystal, chocolate and roasted barley provide a full body whilst, northdown fuggle, Willamette and brewers gold hops combine to offer a strong bitter finish

13. PORTOBELLO BREWERY (LONDON W10) – STAR 4.3%
Brewed with maris otter,caramalt and crystal malts Portobello Star is a balanced beer with hints of berry fruits and roasted coffee

14. GRAFTON BREWERY (WORKSOP, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE) – LADY RUBY CHERRY BEER 4.5%
A ruby coloured ale fruity on the nose, an initial bitterness on the palate leads to a big cherry flavour at the back of the tongue

15. WOLF BREWERY (ATTLEBOROUGH, NORFOLK) – GRANNY WOULDN’T LIKE IT 4.8%
Smoky roast malt in the long aroma, dark malts give a malt loaf and toffee base, sweet malt smokey finish and a dry hop note in the aftertaste

16. KELHAM ISLAND BREWERY (SHEFFIELD, SOUTH YORKSHIRE) – PALE RIDER 5.2%
Well balanced strong and fruity ale flavoured with north American hops, citrus notes with a dry finish

MILDS

1. MAULDONS BREWERY (SUDBURY, SUFFOLK) – MICAWBERS MILD 3.5%
Aroma of coffee, chocolate and caramel, a smoky quality with some bitter chocolate and a roasted barley and burnt toast flavour

2. BURSCOUGH BREWERY (BURSCOUGH, LANCASHIRE) – FLAT RIB MILD 3.6%
A classic mild, dark and satisfying, produced with crystal, mild ale and black malts

3. THREE B’S BREWERY (BLACKBURN, LANCASHIRE) – STOKERS SLAKE MILD 3.6%
A traditional dark mild with roast malt aromas and creamy chocolate notes

4. BRENTWOOD BREWERY (BRENTWOOD, ESSEX) – MARVELOUS MAPLE MILD 3.7%
Made with pure Canadian maples syrup, nutty roasts malt with a sweet maple finish and a slight bitterness

5. YORKSHIRE HEART BREWERY (NUN MONKTON, YORKSHIRE) – HEARTY MILD 4.0%
A delightfully smooth drinking ale with a dark malty sweetness and hints of chocolate

STOUTS AND PORTERS

1. HIGHLAND BREWING Co (SWANNAY, ORKNEY) – SNEAKY WEE ORKNEY STOUT 4.2%
Dark brown stout with good roast, malt and fruit flavours

2. CORVEDALE BREWERY (CRAVEN ARMS, SHROPSHIRE) – OATMEAL STOUT 4.5%

3. TOTALLY BREWED BREWERY (NOTTINGHAM) – PAPA JANGLES VOODOO STOUT 4.5%
Dark and chocolatey with complex malt flavours, cookies and cream, rum and raisin

4. LITTLE VALLEY BREWERY (HEBDEN BRIDGE, WEST YORKSHIRE) – VANILLA PORTER 4.5%
Rich and lightly roasted dark coloured ale with subtle hints of vanilla and liquorice

CIDERS

1. WESTON (MUCH MERCLE, HEREFORDSHIRE) – ROSIES PIG SCRUMPY 4.8%
Easy drinking cloudy cider with a fresh apple flavour with hints of citrus and spice

2. MR WHITEHEADS (SELBORNE, HAMPSHIRE) – MIDNIGHT SPECIAL PERRY 5.0%
Pale hazy yellow in colour with a pear and fruit aroma, the flavour is much similar

3. GWYNT Y DDRAIG (PONTYPRIDD, WALES) – CELTIC WARRIOR 5.5%
An exquisite rich golden colour with a crisp medium tatse

4. MOLES CIDER (MELKSHAM, WILTSHIRE) – BLACK RAT CIDER 6.0%
Strong, dry premium blend, traditional with a clean apple bite

5. BIDDENDEN CIDER (ASHFORD, KENT) – BUSHELLS 6.0%
A strong, still cider produced using a blend of Kentish culinary and dessert apples, medium dry
