On Friday 10th June Marlow C of E Infant School (“Sandygate”) celebrated the Queen’s 90th Birthday, timing their celebrations to coincide with the service held at St Paul’s Cathedral.

The children came to school dressed in red, white or blue and then arranged themselves on the school field to spell E II R and had their photograph taken using a drone supplied by Mr Hollidge of Universal Sky Pictures, which was very exciting for the children. They spent the day learning about the Queen’s homes – Reception class made models from recycled items and Year 1 wrote about what they would like in their own castle.

The children also made Union Flag bunting, crowns and tissue paper flowers which they used to decorate the hall where they held their own tea party in honour of Her Majesty.  They then had sandwiches and scones and sang a special Queen’s Birthday song which they had all learnt.
