The Ship - our review
![]() | The Ship Popular pub with a cosy and traditional wooden beamed bar in the front, a newer extension out the back and a sizeable, if scruffy, beer garden (it's a shame - it wouldnt take much effort to tidy it up!). The building itself dates from the 16th century. Very popular at the weekend, often queues outside after 10pm. Late Licence: Fri and Sat until 1 or 2am, depending on how busy they are. WHOA!! Glad that this pub is still up and running....It has been a while since visiting -when we lived in Marlow, my daughter, Lisbeth used to work here. Ah, yes I remember it well. Watch the heads (only tall persons) because of low beams. Loved it and always busy. Lunch food was great. Friendly atmosphere. For persons coming from the U.S.A. like us, and wanting to find a REAL pub...this is the place to go. Rating: ![]()

This is a pub - not a restaurant. The front part of the bar is much loved by its locals (who are a fantastic bunch)and remains as it has for years. If people think it needs a refurb they should perhaps choose to sit in the back bar or the newly improved beer garden. If still not satisfied - perhaps you are too old. Best pub in town!!
