The Hand and Flowers - our review
![]() | The Hand and Flowers Owner Tom Kerridge had a Michelin star at his previous establishment, and has been awarded one for the Hand and Flowers, making this Marlow's only Michelin starred restaurant. The atmosphere is very cosy - all low beams and candles. The food was indeed simply delicious - the foie gras on toasted brioche starter lives long in the memory. HOWEVER- our first and only visit was marred by poor service - well over an hours wait between finishing the main course and getting our dessert.... we were given the excuse that they were 'busy', but thats hardly a proper excuse of course. An offer of some drinks to tide us over would have been welcome, but never came. A shame that our lingering memory of the meal is this aspect rather than the food. West Street, 01628 482277 |

After several visits I've not had a bad meal; the food is to a consistently high standard. However for the last 3 visits the service has been painfully slow to the point where I've lost patience and have stopped trying, especially as the staff attitude became surly when I asked (courteously) how much longer I had to wait. I'd still recommend it if you're not in a hurry. Rating: ![]()
