Owner and head chef Michael Macdonald has had a considerable track record in restaurants of note.. and his skills are best demonstrated in the multi course 'Gourmand Menu'... superb, and certainly worth the 50 a head price. Visited the superb Vanilla Pod on the evening of the Royal wedding. The Gourmand menu was outstanding, as was the service. I have not visited a restaurant that is so consistent in its quality. Rating:

Great night out. Visited on a tuesday evening and pleased to see the place busy, but not full, unusual for a tuesday in Marlow.We all (4) had the tasting menu @ 50 pounds per head and were allowed to choose the main course from the a la carte. Great value and very professional service yet not too formal. All 7 courses were superb, we shall return soon. Good to see an independant restaurant doing well in the recession Rating:

My working life involved international travel and I've enjoyed some wonderful meals.The most delightful surprise was to enjoy the best meal of my entire life when two of us lunched at The Vanilla Pod and chose dishes from the a la carte menu. Every single dish was spectacular,fresh ingredients and stellar flavours.Peaceful dining room,delightful staff;truly an oasis of tranquillity.I so look forward to returning... Rating:

Always a treat, and last time i went i'm sure the price for the gourmand menu was lower than my previous visit!? Great place for a special occasion, not cheap but decent value for this level of food. Rating:
