Swim, bike and run around Marlow this year

| |

If you are looking for a new physical challenge this year, F3 Events have taken it upon themselves to organise all manner of events in Marlow – covering swimming, cycling and running – and sometimes all 3 in the same event!

Martyn Edwards of  F3 told us “the events are unique in Marlow and the surrounding area and are ideal for welcoming new entrants into a different sport that they might not have thought about taking part in before.”

It’s good to see some variety in the local mass participation events, so why not give one a try?  The triathlon events also have team based entries, where one person does each leg – ideal for friends or colleagues.

Events Based Around Higginson Park, Marlow

2010's Marlow Big Swim

The Marlow River Swim – 16 July 2011
In 2010 the first ever Marlow River Swim in 2010 was a single distance affair, but for 2011 there will be three distances to choose from that will cater for both beginners and experienced swimmers – 750m, 1.5km and 3km.

This should also be a good spectator event, since the swimmers are will be just a few metres from the rivers edge and can be easily followed along the towpath.

These events don’t start in Marlow-  but they do pass through, and loop around much of the beautiful local scenery and nearby villages.  Cycle sportives are basically organised mass bike rides, with support around the route in terms of drink/food stations and backup vehicles etc.

Starting at nearby Dorney Lake, this will be the first running of these events riding around the Berkshire and Buckinghamshire countryside with plenty of opportunities for coffee stops! There are two routes on offer, both decent challenges at 90km & 180km.
