Wow, we absolutely LOVE this quirky tribute to Marlow by Nicola Metcalfe!
As well as being able to buy prints of this poster, Nicola also has some smaller cards with other Marlow images – see the example further down this article.
Nicola is a lifelong local – living in Marlow Bottom with her two children, Esme and Reuben (and two chickens) and has been illustrating all her life. She went to Spinfield School before she moving on to Lady Verney High School in High Wycombe. Nicola was a Vulcan Venture Scout, a washer-upper at Burgers and a singer in a Marlow/Wycombe based rock band.
Currently working mainly in the digital realm, she enjoys adding a contemporary twist to familiar architectural landmarks. The addition of a few quirky social references results in a vibrant mix of colour and vitality.

Through her illustrations, Nicola likes to celebrate what it is to be British by capturing the eccentricity that symbolises aspects of Britain today.
Recent successes have included a commission from Tate Enterprises (an representation of London similar in style to the Marlow one) and the development of a ‘Great British’ range for John Lewis. She is also due to work on a commission for the RNLI and will be working with Henley Royal Regatta to produce merchandise for next year. She is participating in Bucks Open Studios in June .
