Marlow Town Council is offering one lucky Marlovian the chance to help switch on the town’s fabulous display of Christmas lights next year, joining a celebrity guest to illuminate the centre of town. In the past two years since the Switch On and Shop event was launched, both Tom Chambers, the Strictly winning Holby City actor, and Tom Kerridge, the well-known chef and local restauranteur, have performed the switch-on.
Marlow Town Council will be outside the front of Sainsburys this Saturday (13th December) morning then Liston Court in the afternoon, inviting people to guess how many Christmas lights were switched on by Tom Kerridge this year in the centre of Marlow. The correct answer wins the chance to join next year’s celebrity on top of the double-decker bus in the High Street – and switch on the 2015 Marlow Christmas Lights in front of thousands of people.
The Council is suggesting a £1 donation per guess, but everyone will be welcome to participate.
All donations will go towards the costs, around £20,000, for the lights next year.
