Olympic legend and well-known local celebrity Sir Steve Redgrave will light up the town at this year’s Switch on and Shop event on the evening of 19th November.  Timings will be:
  •  5.30 High Street closes
  •  6.00 Gather in the High Street
  •  6.30 ‘Switch On’ of Christmas Lights by Sir Steve, followed by Nextstage Choir
  •  7.00 High Street reopens

He will flick the switch from the top of a double decker bus in the High Street, illuminating Marlow’s wonderful display of Christmas lights.

“I am very excited to have been asked to switch on the Christmas Lights in Marlow,” Sir Steve said. “Marlow has always been my home town and I am really looking forward to the occasion.”

Shops will open late, and there will be special promotions, offers and Christmas displays throughout the town.  For example – Turners will have a snow machine in operation, and Celebrations Party Shop are running a competition to win a superb Christmas balloon display. Details of other shop promotions can be found here: http://www.marlowtowncouncil.org.uk/default.aspx

Marlow FM will be there to keep the Christmas spirit going, and Marlow’s own Treasure Trail will also launch on the same day.

All car parks around the town will be free throughout the day!
