Just a short while after reporting on the closure of the Three Horseshoes pub, we are sorry to report on the closure of another Marlow venue – the Assembly Room.
Back in 2011 we reported on it’s opening and plenty of you commented on the article with glowing reviews.
Since opening, they held all manner of special events – wine tastings, opera nights, comedy nights – I have fond memories of all these, plus in our household we particularly enjoyed a Peppa Pig themed breakfast and a Christmas Day meal where we were welcomed almost as one of the family. Many locals will have enjoyed weddings and other celebration parties there too, it became well known as a venue for such things.
So, thanks for some great memories Assembly Room – and wish the owners well for the future. As regards the future of the location itself? It’s not inconceivable that The Steamer Trading Cookshop below could open up their own cafe – they apparently have done a similar thing in some of their other locations…..
