Marlow Gospel Choir – launches Wed 26th Sep

| |

Marlow Gospel Choir will hold its official launch party on Wednesday
26th September, from 8.00-9.30pm at All Saints Church, Marlow.
There will be an opportunity to sing together and meet other music
lovers across the area. Refreshments will be provided.

The choir is a new group led by conductor Caroline Slade. The group
held a taster weekend as part of the Love Marlow Festival in June
2018, which attracted over 40 singers. They also performed at the Love
Marlow Open Air Service in Higginson Park, which was broadcast on
Marlow FM.

Marlow Gospel Choir aims to be a fun, friendly group which explores
the values of hope, joy and gratitude found in gospel music. They will
perform a mix of traditional gospel and spiritual music, alongside
modern pop and worship songs. It is not necessary to read music, and
there are no auditions. There will be a membership fee.

Caroline Slade is an award-winning choral conductor and has worked for
the BBC Proms, ITV, English National Opera and Opera North, amongst
others. She lives in Marlow and is actively involved in the local
community, most recently setting up a singing group at Cliveden Manor
care home.

Rehearsal dates for the Autumn term are Wednesdays from 26th September
until 5th December, from 8.00-9.30pm at All Saints Church. There will
be no rehearsal on 24th October due to half term. The group will
perform a ‘Gospel Carols’ concert on Sunday 9th December at
7.30pm. They will also perform at St Mary’s Maidenhead on the
afternoon of Saturday 15th December, alongside New Maidenhead Choir.
