The game remained tight until the final minutes when up stepped Qwam Thomas with the winner. A free-kick wide on the left looked like the perfect opportunity for Marlow put one in the box, but instead the midfielder opted to whip the ball to the far post, over the outstretched hands of the Mortimer goalkeeper and into the net to seal a league and cup double from James Pritchard’s men.
