Santa fun Run 2019 update

| |

REMINDER: The 15th Marlow Santa Fun Run covers 5 kilometres and takes place Sunday December 1st 9.30AM. New entries can be made via  www.santasfunrun.org – noting the event has “sold out” several week beforehand in the past 5 years!

Two thirds of spaces now sold

The Rotary Clubs of Marlow have told us that over 2000 entries have now been received for the Santa Fun Run , so less than 1000 spaces remain available with just 5 weeks to go.

Entrants opting to collect their costumes and run details now have six locations to choose from. “The No and Low Alcohol Shop” in the High Street has recently been added to Hunts of Marlow, Runners Retreat (Marlow), Coopers (Marlow), Hawkinsport (Bourne End) and Cycle Care (High Wycombe).

Rotary Santas Fun Run Chairman John Prout says: “We have fantastic support from our collection depots – and they help distribute around 2000 of the 3000 runner packs. Without them – and the support of so many other businesses – this event simply could not take place.”

Further support has been given by local employer Allergan based in Marlow – who have made available 3000 re-useable water bottles – one for every runner – free of charge. The offer is designed to help the event move away from deploying any form of single use plastic.

John also reported that local businesses and other affected organisations will be advised of the required road closures A map indicating the route and closure times is show below. John stated “We are very conscious of the inconvenience that some Marlow residents experience, and we thank them for their understanding. As this is now the biggest participation event in the Marlow calendar we have to balance the interests of all concerned, and we will do our very best to ensure that residents on the run route are made aware of the closure timings.”
