PREVIEW: Marlow Town Regatta 2022

| |

We are so excited that Marlow Town Regatta and Festival is back , and indeed back with a bang with two full days and an exciting evening concert! Tickets and picnic pitches are on sale now, and we will be ramping up coverage between now and the event, which takes place Sat 11th and Sun 12th June.

The main place to get all the details is of course the website marlowtownregatta.org but in this article we present a quick overview.

As in previous years, Saturday is the rowing regatta and “garden party” day, and Sunday is the free to enter festival day. In addition this year, Saturday evening has a concert by highly acclaimed Elvis tribute act – Ben Portsmouth. Traylens fun fair have confirmed that they will be in the main park, as usual – so we really are set for a classic event of fun!

Saturday

As per this map below, this year there are 2 enclosures, both of which have access to the river and the Round Table bar. Each enclosure has allocated pitches for gazebos, and these are always popular, so get in now to book your space. However, you don’t need a pitch if you want to mooch around soaking up the atmosphere!

The Jim Campbell Riverside Enclosure maintains the traditional dress code and offers a first class view of the rowing and access to the grandstand and both enclosures.

The Upper Enclosure enjoys the afternoon music, food court and a view of the racing from just beyond the finishing line. Dressing up smartly is encouraged, but not enfocred in this enclosure. On the day you can pay to “upgrade” your badge to access the Riverside Enclosure – but of course you will need to be dressed appropriately.

Saturday Evening

In the evening , there is the exciting Ben Portsmouth “Taking Care of Elvis” concert for which separate ticket costs apply (ie Regatta Day tickets do not include the evening concert.) Ben was the first non-American to be crowned “Worldwide Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist” and tours the world to huge acclaim – and now Marlow!! Find out more about Ben by visiting his website here

Membership

The Town Regatta also has a Membership Scheme – costing £40 per annum, and among other benefits (see the website), members receive an Enamel Membership Badge  which gives access to all enclosures.

Sunday – Festival Day

Sunday sees the “Marlow Dragon Boat Festival” , with FREE Spectator Entry -and it’s always a great spectacle! But there is so much more – it’s a great day out for all the Family, and all FREE to enter. All manner of stalls, and a display arena with all sorts of displays and entertainments

So then, a reminder to book your picnic pitch , and tickets from marlowtownregatta.org

We will be sharing more details in the lead up to 11/12th June- we can’t wait!
