Marlow Sport Weekly Round-up

Marlow Football Club

Marlow FC guaranteed a 3rd place finish and a home play-off tie after a 1-0 victory away to Binfield FC.

Fresh off the back of receiving Manager’s Player of The Season, Naheer-Omar Nawaf scored the winning goal in a close encounter against Binfield, who Marlow had not beaten in their past four meetings including a 2-2 draw in January. The win secured Marlow a 3rd place finish, and a home play-off tie, in the Isthmian League South Central league.

Manager, Mark Bartley (@markusbartley), posted on Twitter:

“A dogged and scrappy performance which saw us to 3pts and a clean sheet, on the road, against playoff chasing opponents. With that we secured 3rd place and a home tie in the playoffs next week, which is all we can ask for.”

The squad will be looking to maintain momentum as they travel to Northwood for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday 22 April for their final league game of the season.

A win here and Marlow would finish on 70 points – nine points and four places higher than last season!

End of season awards:

  • Goal of the season: Elijah Oladunjoye
  • Supporters’ Player of The Year: Ben Mulley
  • Manager’s Player of The Year: Ben Mulley and Naheer-Omar Nawaf
  • Players’ Player of the Year: Ben Mulley

Many congratulations to Elijah, Ben & Naheer-Omar on receiving their awards!

Marlow Spring Regatta 2023 – CANCELLED

Due to take place on 29th April, the Regatta Organising Committee has reluctantly taken the decision to cancel Marlow Spring Regatta.
