Santa Fun Run, Sun 1st Dec- Road Closures

| |

The Rotary Clubs of Marlow have announced that they have reached their capacity of 3000 places and are not accepting further entries for the 2024 Marlow Santas Fun Run  on Sunday 1st December 2024

In 2023 over £72,000 was raised for mainly local charities – and the organisers are confident that this sum will be exceeded this year.

As always – when around 3000 people take part watched by another 2-3000 spectators – there is some disruption because of road closures. 2000 letters are being hand delivered to local addresses most affected and the information will also appear on social media.

FULL DETAILS – ROAD CLOSURES – DECEMBER 1st

Entrants will congregate in Higginson Park from around 8.00 AM ready for a 9.20AM walk to the High Street and a 9.30AM start. Leading runners are usually back by 9.50AM, and virtually everyone will hopefully have completed the course by around 11.00AM

The core route progressively impacts the following roads – and associated junctions:

- with many thanks to our website sponsors -

  • Marlow Bridge, High Street (closed 9.20AM to around 11.00AM).
  • Spittal Street (closed 9.20AM to around 10.00AM)
  • Glade Road (closed 9.20AM to around 10.30AM)
  • Station Road, Dedmere Road, Fieldhouse Lane, Westhorpe Road and Wiltshire Road (closed 9.20AM to circa 10.30AM)
  • Parkway (open throughout but drive with care)
  • Fieldhouse Lane, Lock Road, Mill Road, Station Road, and back across the High Street (closed 9.30AM to circa 11.00AM).

A map highlighting the route and key roads impacted can be accessed here:

Roads may open slightly earlier – or later – dependent on runner progress.

Please note the road closures have all been authorised by relevant authorities and statutory warning signs are being deployed in advance.
