The Old Brewery pub site has been put up for rent, via the Savills website.
The Old Brewery has been operating for 8 years (we covered its opening in this article) and is a popular spot for sports coverage, plus regular lively Karaoke nights, and occasional live music. Prior to that it was the Slug & Lettuce, and the Hogshead before.
The brochure states “Currently trading as The Old Brewery, the property occupies a prominent position in the heart of Marlow town centre…….. The property sits prominently on the High Street benefitting from a wide frontage and high footfall.”
It also notes that “The property is currently used as a pub – Other uses, such as class E, will be considered subject to planning.” Classs E would basically permit most other types of business – shops, restaurants etc.
At this stage, we don’t have details of any planned closure date for the Old Brewery- we will keep you updated. We are assuming this is a choice by the pub operator, unless it’s part of some negotiating tactic by the owners to try and get them to pay more rent?!
It’s clearly always sad to lose such an established venue, and whatever the outcome we wish all the best to the lovely team at the pub.
