Following a successful residency earlier this year, Dinings SW3 will return to The Room Upstairs at The Oarsman for two weekends this month.
From 17 to 20 September and 24 to 27 September 2026, Executive Chef Masaki Sugisaki and his team from the acclaimed Chelsea restaurant will once again bring their distinctive style of Japanese cooking to The Oarsman! Known for its strong environmental ethos it provides a natural setting for Masaki’s thoughtful and sustainability-led approach to cooking.
Taking over the restaurant’s intimate first-floor dining space, guests will be seated together around a single shared table and presented with a multi-course omakase menu, chosen by the chef and guided by seasonality. Rooted in traditional Japanese technique and shaped by subtle European influence, the experience will be recreating the same intimate and convivial spirit that defined the restaurant’s previous Marlow residency.
The lunch sitting will feature a slightly shorter omakase menu priced at £85 per person, while dinner will offer the full multi-course experience for £115 per person.
Guests can expect dishes such as koji-cured venison tartare, charred hand-dived scallops and a dedicated sushi course, alongside a selection of seasonal plates showcasing Masaki’s signature style. Many of the dishes will be shaped by his commitment to sustainability and his distinctive ‘gill-to-tail’ philosophy, ensuring thoughtful use of the whole catch and making the most of each ingredient. Each sitting will begin with a welcome cocktail. Optional wine and sake pairings will be available, alongside a carefully considered non-alcoholic pairing. A concise à la carte drinks list will also be offered throughout each service.
Masaki Sugisaki, Executive Chef at Dinings SW3, says: “We are delighted to be returning to The Oarsman following such a special residency earlier this year. The Room Upstairs creates a wonderfully intimate setting, where guests can come together around one table and enjoy the menu as a shared experience. The Oarsman’s commitment to sustainability and carefully sourced produce also closely reflects the values behind the food we create at Dinings SW3.”
