Chequers reopens – our first visit

| |

The MyMarlow team were at the newly opened Chequers last night for a look around and a chat with the tenant Ted Docherty (pictured) .  Ted runs a few pubs, and this is his third under the “TM Steaks” concept which involves the customer choosing their preferred cut and weight -and then selecting sauces and accompaniments.

Ted clearly knows his steaks and described the lengths he has gone to to source the best possible produce, and also answered our questions regarding the difference between different cuts.

If steaks aren’t your thing – there are other options on the menu, as well as a “lighter snacks” offering in the bar.

£500k has been spent on the interior, and it looks comfortable and smart – although previous visitors to the old Chequers will recognise the internal layout, nothing has changed in terms of the space itself.

We enjoyed a couple of drinks, but need to get back asap for a meal to properly review the restaurant food itself.  Until then, we have our review of the Chequers pub, and we invite you to submit your own review!
