Marlow Open Water Swim will be opening this bank holiday Monday (2nd May) for Open Water Swimming, offering a FREE swim to everyone that comes down on the first session.

Marlow Spring Regatta

This is an 'open' regatta (ie anyone can enter) although in practice it is mainly local clubs and schools. Approx 80% of entrants are juniors, the rest mostly veterans and novices. Entrants will include teams from Marlow Rowing Club plus Borlase and Great Marlow Schools. Runs from 8am throughout the day.

Races start from Bisham Abbey, 3 abreast, racing the 900m to finish at Higginson Park. BBQ etc in park.

EU Referendum Debate

All Saints Church in Marlow will be hosting a public debate on Friday 6th May at 5.30pm to help people make their minds up with regards to the forthcoming EU referendum.  The event is not a church thing – it’s intended for the whole community to come and hear both sides to help them make up their mind before they vote.

Rt Hon Dominic Grieve QC, Member of Parliament for Beaconsfield (including Marlow) will be arguing the case for remaining a part of the EU, while John Petley from the Campaign for an Independent Britain will be arguing against.

MAS Talk: Buildings archaeology: New evidence at Hampton Court Palace 8:00 PM

A talk by Deirdre Forde is a buildings archaeologist with Oxford Archaeology.

Areas of Hampton Court Palace have undergone meticulous conservation and archaeological investigation over the past five years. Exciting new evidence found in Deirdre’s project has contributed greatly to the knowledge of the phases of works attributed to Cardinal Wolsey and Henry VIII and their plans for the palace around them. She often works from scaffolding amid the alterations, alongside stone masons, bricklayers and carpenters whose skills reveal techniques used by medieval and later craftsmen.

Charity dinner - with Atul Kochhar at Sindhu

Join Sindhu’s very own Atul Kochhar and MacMillan Cancer support on the 19th May 2016, to help raise awareness whilst enjoying a one-of-a-kind evening meal at Sindhu, situated in The Compleat Angler Hotel, Marlow.

The exclusive dinner will give guests the opportunity to meet and greet world-renowned Chef-Patron Atul Kochhar, the first Indian chef to receive a Michelin star, and hear about his extensive career and experiences, whilst picking up a cooking tip, or two!

Guests will be greeted with a glass of prosecco on arrival, before tucking into a bespoke dinner tasting menu, offering traditional Indian cuisine in a contemporary style, star dishes include; Roasted Sweet Potato with King Edward Potato and Sweet Yoghurt and Chutney, the Tandoor Grilled Rack of Lamb with Chettinad Spices, and Tandoor Grilled Saffron Chicken Tikka, to name but a few.

This is a monthly Tea Dance (on the 2nd Thursday each month).  From 2.0-4.0pm in Liston Hall, Marlow - run by the Marlow Community Association.  Ballroom, Latin and Sequence Dancing (Beginners are welcome).  Dancing is led by qualified dance instructors. Price is £2 which includes tea.
