Tom Kerridge’s The Hand and Flowers in Marlow – the only pub in the country with two Michelin stars – was last night named the UK’s top restaurant at the National Restaurant Awards. It managed to snatch top spot from The Ledbury, which held the title for three years. The awards are organised by Restaurant magazine and voted for by top industry experts.
London restaurants took six of the top 10 positions, whilst our other highly regarded local(ish) restaurant, The Fat Duck, was in 12th place.
Chef Tom is really on a roll right now – in the recent AA Hospitality Awards he was named “Chefs’ Chef of the Year”, and of course he has his own BBC TV show “Proper Pub Food”.
Well done Tom and everyone at the Hand and Flowers!
