The owners of Marlow’s The Botanist pub – The New World Trading Company have achieved a world record title for the largest gin tasting held over multiple venues.
With a combined figure of 796, participants from all over the UK attended The Botanist and Trading House locations from Glasgow to London and of course Marlow, smashing the 300 participant target.
Locally, the event on Thursday 11th February was organised with support from MyMarlow.co.uk – whereby 83 locals participated at The Botanist in Marlow, each enjoying a Gin Tasting with three premium gins followed by a gin party with live music for all involved. The lucky participants had to enter a competition to be in with the chance to win tickets to the gin party – where gin & tonics were flying over the bar….
The UK wide event is now the company’s second Guinness World Records title alongside the record awarded back in July for the Most varieties of rum commercially available, achieved at The Smugglers Cove in Liverpool, with 151 different types of rum on offer.
Managing Director Chris Hill said: “We’re very proud of our extensive gin offering and it was great to have gin experts in each venue to give our guests more insight into the botanicals which make Tanqueray 10, Whitley Neill and Caorunn Gin so special.”
