The ever popular Frieth Hilly celebrates its tenth birthday this year. With its route through some stunning scenery, the race is one of the most inspiring and challenging in the area– it’s not called the Hilly for nothing! There is the original 10k and a (flatter) 5k run.
Runners can put themselves through their paces whilst being cheered on by the local community, knowing that by entering they are raising funds for Frieth Primary School.
Last year, the race attracted Team GB runners and Olympic athletes as well as club runners and novices, with more than 300 runners taking part!
There will also be entertainment, refreshments and a crèche with qualified CRB-checked staff so parents can run whilst their little ones play.
Marlow’s Zac Purchase will be giving out the prizes. Zac is a Double Olympic Medalist in Rowing (Gold in Beijing 2008 and Silver in London 2012), and more recently has set up Zac’s Fitness, a pay as you go fitness studio in Marlow.
The 10k race is open to 15-year-olds and above while the 5k race is open from age 11. Registration is from 8.30am and the entry fee is £17 for the 10k and £13 for the 5k, payable by cash or cheque (sorry, no cards). The race starts at 10am.
