This Girl Can …. swim a mile?

Calling all local ladies who would like to dive into a life-changing experience.

The Henley Swim are looking to recruit 6 ladies who have never swum in open water before to feature in their 2019 This Girl Can campaign. They will swim a mile at the Outdoor Swimmer Henley Swim Festival on 14th July and receive a highly valuable bundle of kit.

Henley Swim are keen to encourage more women to get involved in open water swimming, it is one of the fastest growing trends in sport around the world and provides not only incredible physical rewards but huge mental health benefits as well.

The chosen participants will receive a free place at the Outdoor Swimmer Henley Swim Festival on Sunday 14th July and a brilliant starter kit worth over £380 containing a dryrobe, a Zoggs UK swimming costume and goggles, a Selkie hoody, bobble hat and flask, a Simply Swim tow float and swimming hat and a 6 month subscription to Outdoor Swimmer Magazine.
The ladies will be helped along their way with a 12 week training plan which will transition them from the swimming pool to open water.

Women who are interested must of never swum in an open water swimming event before and should either be near the beginning of their fitness journey or return to exercise – maybe they will be overcoming barriers in doing so?

All the winners will need to do is write a short weekly blog, allowing others to share their experience – the good, the bad and the downright ugly!

All entries must be in by April 1st at midnight.
