Royal Oak set to reopen Spring 2020

| |

We were delighted to get a notification of being tagged in a Tweet today…. which then revealed that the Royal Oak expects to reopen in Spring 2020!

It is so good to see work commencing after the fire which broke out on Sunday 15th September as we reported at the time, with dramatic images of the fire which was started by a washing machine/tumble drier in an upstairs room.

The following day, the external damage to the roof was obvious, and of course there would be internal damage from the fire itself, plus smoke, and all the water pumped in to put the flames out.

We’ll keep you posted on developments, and wish the pub a speedy recovery! 🙂
