Corazón del Rîo – a new tapas restaurant coming to Bourne End

| |

Bourne End Marina is set to become home to a new tapas restaurant Corazón del Rîo (Heart of the River), which is exciting news for MyMarlow! We have always thought something like this would do well locally, and if not in Marlow, we can cope with just along the road (or river) !

The owner’s previous tapas restaurant in Wendover , Tres Corazones, is rated 1st in the town on Trip Advisor, and we have noted loads of positive reviews. A typical one is “The most amazing tapas I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Lots of variety, very authentic and extremely friendly staff. I have been a lot and the quality of food has always been consistent.” So, sounds promising!!

Due to open in March 2021, the new, family-friendly restaurant will offer authentic Spanish cuisine in a relaxed and stylish riverside setting.

The restaurant plans to work closely with local suppliers blending local ingredients with authentic Spanish cheeses and hams.  The traditional tapas style of eating combines multiple small plates with lots of flavours giving diners the chance to mix dishes and sample new tastes

The restaurant’s location on the marina should be something special, with a large decked area and canopy to provide al fresco dining.

Owner, Katrina Turnbull, an experienced tapas restauranteur told us “My last restaurant in Wendover was always family-oriented and authentic and my vision for Corazón del Rîo is exactly this.  In terms of the interior, it will be fresh and new, themed around the river and very bright and airy.  The restaurant’s marina setting is beautiful and it will be perfect for the relaxed, Spanish style of dining.”

Corazón del Rîo will also host a community-focused calendar of foodie events, such as ham carving nights, sherry nights and cava nights.  Katrina says, “We are keen to be part of the local community and get to know everyone.   I have always loved this area and am looking forward to moving here and becoming a local myself!”

Landlord Sorbon Estates has upgraded the space as Senior Leasing Manager, Ed Davidson, explained: “We invested heavily in this site to maximise the potential of its unique riverside restaurant setting. This included extension of the external decking area and installation of a state-of-the-art canopy to accommodate customers on the deck all year round. We were highly selective in choosing a tenant here, with demand to secure the site unsurprisingly very strong. “

All sounds very promising, and exciting – we will keep you posted as we get closer to March 2021!
