Marlow’s wonderful independent theatre company, Jam Theatre, is attempting what seems the impossible and producing a full programme of live shows this Christmas.. yes it is JAMFEST 2020!! Performances take place from 18 – 24 December 2020, at The Borlase Theatre. www.jamfest2020.org

Jam Theatre’s Mark Hartley told us ‘As a small independent production company we’re really putting everything on the line for this festival, but talented performers and creatives need to be working, and this is exactly the medicine Marlow and the wider community need to end a difficult year!’

Jam Theatre Company was formed in 2005, and has enjoyed 15 years producing professional theatre in Marlow, and would usually be producing an original Christmas show in their studio theatre on West Street.

Jam Theatre’s Artistic Director Jo Carter explained the need for a venue change this year: ‘We simply couldn’t fit a socially distanced audience into our intimate studio theatre this year, so we are using a wonderful modern theatre at Borlase School just across the road. I am so thrilled to have been able to continue to employ professional performers throughout this difficult year, running workshops and training, and now to finally get them back on stage where they belong.’

The spacious theatre will host three different shows during the seven day festival, with the capacity of only 104 seats for each performance. Shows will all be one act, 60 – 75 minutes shows.

* Due to social distancing seats can only be booked in blocks of 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 seats, for
individual households

Three different shows – something for everyone:

THE FROOTICALS ARE BACK WITH A NEW CHRISTMAS SHOW FOR KIDS!

The Frooticals, were conceived by Jam’s Jo Carter in 2018 to provide a high quality professional entertainment for the children’s stage, and had sell out Christmas shows. Through songs, scenes and dancing, The Frooticals entertain young children and get them involved in moving and grooving to pop songs. Encouraging the kids to copy the dance moves, this particular show has been specially written to promote closeness and caring for friends and family while keeping everyone safe and healthy.

WEST END STARS PERFORM THE A – Z OF MUSICALS!

Jam’s new show The A – Z of Musicals, will take you on a journey through the musical theatre repertoire , performed by an outstanding cast featuring Claudia Kariuki (School of Rock, Wicked, Priscilla Queen of the Desert), Kayleigh McKnight (Les Miserables, Tina, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Man The Music The Show world tour), Ricardo Castro (Motown, Aladdin, Come From Away); Scott Sutcliffe (Wicked, Book of Mormon, Mamma Mia). There’s even a chance for audience members to vote on which
songs are performed during the show!

DIRECT FROM BROADWAY, WEST END & BBC TV. CELEBRITY MIND READER CHRIS COX!

Jam is honoured to be collaborating with celebrity mind reader & magician Chris Cox to produce a one hour solo show specifically for the festival. Star of ‘The Illusionists’ on Broadway, West End & World Tour, the evening will be far more intimate than what Chris usually performs too, and promises to be a very special and mind-blowing evening of magic.
