Marlow’s Softcat raises £13,000 for Children in Need

| |

Softcat has raised an impressive £13,000 for Children in Need by hosting a series of fun virtual activities run across its nine offices. The IT Company has its HQ in Marlow, and the Marlow office raised £6,000 of the total.

The fundraising activities included an ‘Ice Bucket’ challenge with the Senior Leadership
Team, Directors getting dressed up as characters from Frozen (both activities dependent on
funds raised), a virtual FIFA tournament, Kick a tea bag in a cup from 2m, spin a coin, plank
challenge, guess the number of mint imperials, a raffle with prizes donated by many of the
company’s technology partners and all employees staying in their Pyjamas for the day for a
donation.

Graeme Watt, CEO of Softcat, says of the fundraising “Children in Need is a fantastic charity
that provides financial aid to UK projects that support disadvantaged young people – it is a
charity very close to our heart and so we were again very keen to do our bit. It is a charity
we support every year but it was certainly very different this year having to do it all
remotely. What better way to end a year like 2020 than by supporting this fantastic
initiative, and we are delighted to be able to donate such a significant sum of money.”

Well done Softcat – sounds like a fun day for all staff, and raised a huge amount in a difficult year for charities!
