We first announced that Burgers was up for sale back in 2022, and it has now been confirmed that a sale has concluded to Sorbon Estates.
Burgers first opened in 1942 when Eric and Marie Burger moved to Marlow and opened their Continental Confectioners. Eric and Marie’s sons Philippe and Bernard both trained in the family trade to continue the tradition. Over the decades it has become a much loved Marlow institution with its bread, cakes, chocolates and café.
Bernard Burger said: “It has been an honour for our family to serve the Marlow community for over eight decades and we are incredibly grateful to the loyalty shown to us. By selling the property to Sorbon Estates, we are confident that it will continue to be a valued part of the town. Our hope is that the future tenants will feel the same sense of pride and connection to the town that we have.”
Sorbon Estates have said they will “sensitively refurbish the building” to welcome a new occupier. We will keep you posted…..
