Burgers of Marlow for sale

| | ,

Burgers of Marlow and the larger site which it is part of are on the market with an asking price of £4.5m.

At MyMarlow, we are obviously deeply saddened to know that we will be losing this business which has been in Marlow for 80 years, family owned throughout and run by three generations in that time. They are the only “proper” bakery in Marlow, in terms of making everything themselves on-site.

We know that our followers will feel the same – every time we mention Burgers or indeed other bakeries, we get supportive comments. For example on a related post just yesterday on Facebook: “Their bread is of a fantastic quality as are all their products” and “can I give praise to our original town bakery, Burgers of Marlow, who donated 50 fresh baps free of charge, as they’ve always done, to our volunteers BBQ at Marlow Age Concern last Friday.”

The Burger family have told MyMarlow that the timescale for the sale is expected to be 6-9 months, so there should still be time to visit and make the most of the wonderful bread, cakes, chocolates, sandwiches and meals – always served by fabulous friendly staff.

The site is for sale via Duncan Bailey Kennedy and Deriaz Campsie.

The property for sale consist of more than the main Burgers building – as can be seen from this image from the brochure.

There is also the bakery buildings, a two bed flat, a one bed cottage, and the shop at 7 Station Road occupied by Komao. All in an incredibly prominent location of course!

We will of course remain in contact with the owners throughout, and keep you updated right here.
