Seed1 launches new membership cards

| | ,

Seed1, Marlow’s zero-waste refill shop, moved to its permanent home in Dean Street earlier
this year, but has struggled with a huge reduction in footfall thanks to the various lockdown
measures that have been in place.

Lora, who founded the shop in 2019, is optimistic about the future of Seed1 but acknowledges they are experiencing cash flow difficulties at present as the increase in turnover is slower than they hoped.

In order to tackle this, Seed1 have come up with a way to help inject much needed cash into the business, while also saving their regular customers money. Seed1 Membership cards are now available to purchase for £25 in store.

These cards are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase and qualify the bearer for discounts in store on purchases during that time. The staff at Seed1 estimate that their average customer could save £60 in 6 months (based on average spend per customer so far) , meaning an overall saving of £35 once the cost of the membership card is taken into consideration.

The membership cards entitle the bearer to the following discounts in store:

  • £2 off when you spend £20 in a single transaction
  • £3 off when you spend £30 in a single transaction
  • £4 off when you spend £40 in a single transaction
  • £6 off when you spend £50 in a single transaction

About the membership cards, Lora says “I’m really excited to have found a way to help our
business survive this tricky time, while also making zero-waste shopping more accessible to
those in our community who are shopping on a budget”

She added: “I hope people can get behind Seed1 and other local, independent businesses who have had a really hard time since March. As local business owners, we want to give what we can to our community, but we can only do that if our businesses recover from the reduction in trade we’ve experienced lately”
