Spotlight on Helen Rathbone

| |

It isn’t too long till the Marlow Food Festival, where a host of chefs will demonstrate their skills. It is also a showcase for local foods, stalls and the famous Man Meat Fire!

Helen Rathbone is the owner of Flying Pigs Marketing, the company behind this fabulous event, but unlike other faceless marketing company’s Helen knows the area inside and out.

Her in-depth local knowledge comes from her time working at the Compleat Angler Hotel, where she was Sales Manager for over ten years. Working in sales gave her the opportunity to understand what the people want and thankfully she brought us the Food Festival, which is now in its second year.

She admits that she “launched the Marlow Food Festival last year with the intention of highlighting the exceptional chefs and local food and wine producers that Marlow and the surrounding areas have to offer, this year sees the launch of the new Marlow Jazz Festival (in association with Jazz from Geoff ) as a purely charity event.”

Since the inception of Flying Pigs Marketing, she has worked with Marlow Town Council on their community magazine, The Marlovian. She also helped produce the Marlow Town Regatta Festival programme this year and has worked with the Marlow FM committee on the commercial side of their bid to launch a local radio station.

Helen says “Having worked in Marlow, I have always considered the strength of my business to be my local knowledge.”

We at My Marlow look forward to more of Helen and Flying Pigs Marketing events.
