You might have noticed an upcoming entry in our Marlow events calendar – on Sat November 13th “Collective Art in Marlow:  Art, Craft and Shop – Exhibition & Sale”.

We hadn’t heard of this group before, so sought a bit more information from the organisers.

Julia Hayward was involved in setting up “Collective Art in Marlow“- a group of 17 artists of differing ages and areas of expertise who met each other through the annual Bucks Open Studios Events.  Julia told us that the group held their first event in the summer and it was very successful.

The event on Saturday is their second exhibition, and another of the artists Nicola Rowsell explained that they are passionate about sharing what they make with the public and in offering a friendly, approachable and inclusive event. Many of the artists are happy to demonstrate how they make their work. Visitors can enjoy looking, chatting, having a cup of tea and of course have the opportunity to buy original work directly from the artists.

A diverse range of items will be on view and for sale – paintings, ceramics, jewellery, metal work, prints, glass, textiles, candles, horticulture, greeting cards and more

On Friday evening the group are hosting a preview with mulled wine and nibbles, whilst on Saturday tea, coffee and cakes will be on offer whilst you visit.

All the details are on their website at colart.tumblr.com, and it all takes place in the Pugin Rooms, St. Peters Street.

Sounds an ideal place to get some early (and original!) Christmas gifts!
