We are delighted to announce the opening of another new independent shop in Marlow!

On Thursday 14th March, The Children’s Shoe Company will open its doors in Oxford Road, Marlow (next to Clayton’s bar)

Local mums Sarah Cooper and Lisa Parkinson are behind the new shop, and having six young children between them- they should know a thing or two about buying shoes!

Sarah and Lisa have corporate backgrounds, and after taking career breaks to look after their children the Burford School mums felt it was time to try a new venture.

The new store will be in the old “Doogies” premises, which was also a children’s shoe shop, and the pair have been able to work with the previous owner of that shop to understand the shoe business, and have also undertaken shoe fitting training with The Society of Shoefitters.

Planning permission to extend the store was received, so there will be plenty of space for a wide selection of shoe brands as well as accessories for after school activities such as swimming and ballet – initially stocking uniform for Louise Parkes School of Dance.

girl wearing shoesSarah told us “We can’t wait to see the reaction of local parents to the store. We’ve really tried to make the chore of children’s shoe shopping a more pleasurable experience and are always happy to hear feedback and ideas”.

Lisa added “Our mission is to make shopping for children’s shoes hassle-free and enjoyable for both parent and child, meaning great customer service, lots of choice with good quality brands at affordable prices – and we even have a kid’s play area!”

Pop in from Thursday, or visit www.thechildrensshoecompany.co.uk for more details.
