Russell Brand lights up Marlow

| |

This evening, local celeb resident Russell Brand switched on Marlow’s Christmas lights.

A huge crowd turned out, and was entertained with a funny, and charming speech about Russells’ favourite spots in Marlow. He mentioned Maliks, Platts Garage and Cedar cafe amongst others. The biggest laughs were probably from comments about his friend Tom Kerridge treating Marlow like a real-life Monopoly Board, and a joke about the bridge closure.

“Russell did us proud,” Mayor Jocelyn Towns told us. “It was lovely to see him and his family enjoying such a great welcome from the people of Marlow, and his words about Marlow were heartwarming as well as very funny. We’re thrilled that he enjoys being part of this great community.”

MyMarlow was on the bus to video the event, and that can be viewed on our Facebook page.

Here’s a few photos we took too.
