Marlow’s first ever Vietnamese restaurant will be the independent, family run “Suum Vietnamese Kitchen”, and it opens on Wed 6th December 2017!
This has to be considered a really exciting new restaurant in town – independently run, a new cuisine for Marlow, and to be honest – a very short walk from my home! 🙂
Background
It is owned by Nhung and Nhan Nguyen, who live locally, but came to England as students in the early 2000s. They were nostalgic for the simple dishes from their hometown of Hai Phong, and started sourcing fresh traditional ingredients to cook Vietnamese dishes at home. Nhan has worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years, but the couple’s dream for year has been open a Vietnamese restaurant – a dream which has finally resulted in Suum.
“Suum” is a derived from a Vietnamese phrase meaning a cozy gathering around dining table. Suum will offers dishes prepared according to original recipes, just like the way a Vietnamese family cooks at home. It will be built on quality, healthy & fresh ingredients and inspired by the varied aromas from the gardens and rivers of the Vietnamese Red River delta.
