Marlow empty property update – old Crown, Landmark, Perch…

| |

A quick update on a few vacant premises around town… we will add to this and expand on detail as time goes on.

The old Crown… yours for £270,000 pa.

Since Steamer Trading left, the site has been left vacant (aside from the superb Firefly pop up cinema over Christmas!)   It seems a bit odd not to have a “To Let” sign outside … but it IS up for let, with two options:

  1. Available immediately in its current configuration, at the princely sum of £270,000 pa. Rates are noted for 2018/19 as being £86,768. All quite eye-watering stuff really!
  2. Alternatively, the property can be subdivided and extended into two units, requiring the creation of a  proper entrance on the left hand side ground floor, which would then have access up to the first floor. (see image)  The rest of the ground floor would remain as it was whilst Steamer Trading were in place.  This would seem to suit the “shop downstairs, restaurant upstairs” approach, and the owners have mocked up a restaurant image to reinforce that.

The Perch – under offer

The Perch closed back in September 2018, and has been up for let at £55,000 pa since. Promisingly.. it is shown as “Under Offer”, so fingers crossed that we will have something there soon.

The ex Landmark shop… not the most exciting future for Marlow shoppers?!

Landmark also closed in Sep 2018, and was advertised at £85,000pa rent. It is also “Under Offer”. Permission has recently been granted for “change of use of building from retail (A1) to financial and professional services (A2)”   The application  noted that the proposed occupier of the property is NFU Mutual who deal in insurance, pensions, investments etc. All important stuff, but not the most exciting prospect for shoppers of Marlow!

Ok that’s all for this short roundup – let us know if you have any news for us to share!
