GALLERY: Celebrate Marlow 2019

Today the third “Celebrate Marlow” lunch organised by Marlow Town Council  was held at the Crowne Plaza. Attendees included volunteers, veterans, cadets, and representatives of various community organisations.

There was an introduction by Mayor Richard Scott, who said “I have always believed that residents should put something back into the community in which they live. That is what you have done, some in a highly visible way and others quietly helping their neighbours.”

“Community service is a duty to be taken seriously. Enhancing our wonderful town as a place to live, work and visit is a responsibility to which we should all contribute. By doing so, we can support our town and, in particular, those residents less fortunate than ourselves.”

While the guests had lunch, they were entertained by a slideshow of old photos and there was a video montage including footage from the LOVE Marlow festival, and Christmas light light switch-on, plus school children giving reasons why they love Marlow. Marlow FM’s Mike Cannon did a great job as compere for the afternoon , and Anna Nightingale entertained the invited guests with a selection of songs.

All in all, a very enjoyable and successful event! 🙂
