Keeeps to open pottery store and workshop

Local pottery business Keeeps is set to open its first bricks & mortar store on Marlow High Street this autumn. Taking over the White House in the centre of the High Street (previously Jack Wills) the shop will offer unique, hand-made pottery while an upstairs workshop will allow visitors to experience pottery in a fresh and exciting way.

Keeeps celebrates and supports independent UK potters with a curated range of stylish, functional pottery, including kitchenware, homeware and gift items, featuring everything from its bestselling salt-pig to mugs, vases, diffusers and much more.

Once up and running Keeeps will be offering pottery classes and workshops for all ages in its upstairs pottery studio, with local potters acting as tutors for the sessions. There are plans for talks and demos, as well as pottery parties, with an online booking system due to launch in the coming weeks at www.keeeps.co.uk

Locals will recognise the Keeeps brand from its pop-up shop window on the high street earlier this year, which proved immensely popular. Founder, Tamra Booth, says, “The response to our pop-up window was overwhelming, we were delivering local orders every day, so it really helped prove to me that there is a market for what we’re offering. Once up and running, we plan to provide a real pottery experience, not just selling ceramics, but getting people into pottery. Downstairs the shop will be fun and interesting, while upstairs our workshop will be an authentic, inevitably dusty space where visitors can see it all happen and even get hands-on with the clay. We want to create something really engaging for visitors and hope it will encourage people to fall in love with pottery just as we have.”

Rob Martin, Leasing Manager at Sorbon Estates, said “The White House is a beautiful and prominent building on Marlow High Street, so it was important to us to find a special tenant who would bring something different to the town. Keeeps is the perfect fit, offering something completely fresh that goes beyond a purely retail offer to give locals and visitors a real experience. Marlow is a thriving high street with a great mix of quality brands and we know that Keeeps will be an exciting addition to the community here.”
