Marlow schoolchildren support community with park cleanup

| |

On Tuesday and Wednesday, 20th and 21st June, children from Marlow C of E Infant (Sandygate) School took part in mindful action in the May Balfour Garden.

Marlow Town Council was delighted to welcome the Dragonfly and Grasshopper classes to the event, which was held for the benefit of the local community. Pupils worked together in a group act of kindness, planting bulbs, washing stonework, cleaning benches and litter-picking in the garden. By doing this, the young residents learnt that they were part of a larger community and were able to glimpse the bigger picture of the world around them.

The Town Council provided bulbs, litter-pickers and some fresh fruit for the youngsters. All were rewarded with a certificate of appreciation.

Town Mayor, Cllr David Brown, who visited the children on both mornings, thanked the children, saying: “You’ve done a marvellous job here today, Marlow thanks you!”
