SPOTLIGHT on…. URU Home

| |

URU Home can be found on West Street and online at uruhome.co.uk . We popped in to check out the shop, it’s full of fantastic hand-crafted products, and well worth checking out!

Founder, Aye Latt was raised in Northern Burma, and grew up seeing traditional handmade Burmese crafts. This went on to inspire her to bring these unique and exquisite pieces to the UK.

As well as supporting Burmese crafting communities, Aye also seeks to have a positive impact on the environment, so all URU products are made from ethically sourced materials.

The Basketries are primarily created from Rattan climbing trees, with the majority grown in Northern Burma. Reclaimed wood comes from a fast growing tree called Lebeck, collected from the aftermath of the monsoon. This wood makes the perfect ethical material for URU’s products.

As Aye says “At URU HOME, we take pride in curating a collection of exquisite handmade items crafted with passion and dedication. Each piece tells a unique story, celebrating the artistry and creativity of our talented artisans.”
