A planning application has been submitted to convert the old Barclays Bank on Marlow High Street into an Oliver Bonas store. The site has been vacant for 3 years, so it would be great to see it back in use!
Founded in 1993, the company describe themselves on their website (www.oliverbonas.com) as follows:
“Oliver Bonas is an independent British lifestyle store, developing our own take on fashion and homeware. We sell online internationally and from 90+ stores across the UK and the Republic of Ireland, operating as an omnichannel business across multiple platforms.
As our products have evolved, we have become an authority on design, and we remain inspired by fresh thinking. Our mission is the one thing that’s remained constant throughout: to do our bit to make living a joyful experience and give cause for optimism”
Images from their instagram below give an idea of the “vibe”
As a reminder, Barclays Bank closed on Friday 11 March 2022. Later that year, we reported that Danish bakery and cafe chain Ole & Steen did submit plans to open on the site, but that was never followed through.
Regarding this latest application, we have also seen online job ads for positions at the shop, so will keep you posted of developments!
It would be quite a large store, as you can see from the plans below, taken from the publicly accessible Planning Application:
