| |

Local company “Child Matters” are running a very useful course this week, covering basics of childhood first aid, illnesses etc. Details as follows:

While our Resuscitation course offers peace of mind for the immediate life threatening scenario, this course helps you feel prepared in dealing with emergencies big and small, although often when it’s your own child nothing feels ‘minor’!

Childhood Accident First Aid gives you vital information on dealing with burns, cuts, bruises, allergic reactions, ingestions and head injuries and what to keep in your First Aid Kit.

The second half of the course looks at Childhood Illness. It covers potential emergencies including meningitis, febrile convulsions and croup and helpful tips to ensure you feel more confident while caring for your child when a minor illness occurs, including; coughs, colds, temperatures and tummy bugs. We discuss what medicines or useful aids to keep in your medicine cabinet, how to recognise the signs and symptoms of illness, and importantly when and where to seek medical advice.
